SDC 2018 - Los Angeles

The Team

Alex is our captain, the one that aims to lead the team towards performance! He is a determined, well calculated, who approaches all the situations in a rational way, always thinking in advance. He is organised and has good communication skills, moreover he is friendly, and open to new things, which ar qualities that make him an exceptional leader. The strength of his charachter is proven in the outdoor activities that he does, Alex being interested in hiking and climbing.

Ádám is a very energic, optimistic and well calculated person, always open to learn new things. He is communicative, and enjoys working in a team, considernig that the great victories are conquered when people from a team work together as a one. Ambitious, he takes missions on his own account, if necesarry. Some say that he is searching for Eva, but he affirms that he has already found her. On his free time, he enjoys cooking.

Barni is calm, shy, but tenacious when he aims for something, and usually he aims high. He quickly finds solutions to a problem, and always completes his tasks with patience and perseverance. His dedication for the construction field makes him a valuable member in the team. On his free time, he is interested in hockey and astronomy.

Lori, as friends call him, is a hard working and determined person, traits that help him get where he wants. Another trait that stands out is his seriousness which he uses in situations that require it. With his high sense of humor he manages to lighten mood using crafty and inventive jokes. In his spare time, he is an avid fan of soccer and practices winter sports.

In contrast with his imposing stature, Ladó is a caring and trustworthy, who can always put a smile on your face. Always having a contagiously positive attitude, he jumps in to help his colleagues every time they need it. Maybe his most remarkable quality is the entertainment that he stirs up, raising the spirit of the entire team.In his free time, Ladó practises his gaming skills.

Bogdan is the kind of teammate that reveals his comic side in a situation in which you do not expect him to. His healthy and charismatic laugh lift your spirits up immediately.He’s an honest straightforward and open person, prompt and he always finds balance between work and fun. A great speaker, able to act calmly in any kind of situation and involved in extracurricular activities like the Romanian Scout Association and Beard Brothers. As a hobby, Bogdan likes hiking with his friends.

Caterina is an open person, always with a smile on her face, with whom you enjoy spending time. She takes her tasks seriously, her way of working being well organized and precise. She exudes enthusiasm and good mood and, when working in a team, she manages to communicate her ideas clearly and efficiently, always leading up to the assigned tasks.

Cosmin is a person that manages to loosen up the mood with his humor, being very serious and perseverant is solving any issue. Being very resourceful and confident, Cosmin manages to finalize all his plans, proving that he is a person that you can count on in every situation. He is known for his pragmatic and engineer-like thinking, oriented to always solve any problems that occur.

The first things you notice when you are in Nina’s presence is her energy, well-being and humor, more often than not with a tint of irony but always respectable. As you get to know her you realize she is a loyal person that you can always count on. Nina doesn’t back down from a challenge and always tackles her responsibilities with professionalism and perseverance.

Curious by nature, Călin is very keen to explore new horizons. When he sets his mind on something he’s working in a diligent manner, being both conscientious and prudent to achieve the goals his striving to. At the same time, he’s worked his altruistic side, being implied as a volunteer in many projects.

Ioana has a very pleasant presence and is a person you want to have around all the time. Perseverance, seriousness and elegance blend harmoniously into her nature. Creative, she takes all the tasks seriously and punctually, paying great attention to detail and nuances. Photography is one of her hobbies.

Andrada is the person who always emanates cheerfulness, being energetic and optimistic. Faced with a challenge, Andrada acts with tact, responsibility and confidence. She is also a very involved person, who likes to travel and learn new things at all times.

Getting to know Răzvan you realize he is an ambitious and determined person and you notice the professionalism with which he takes on every task, managing to finalize his responsibilities without any compromise. Passionate about architecture and the interesting aspects of engineering, his ideas are inventive and of impact, bringing a significant contribution in the projects he is implicated. In his spare time he is passionate about photography, basketball and experimenting new things.

Andrei is a sociable and spontaneous person that makes friends with anybody very quick, managing to always loosen up the mood within the group. Creative and a workaholic, Andrei is known for his originality in the ideas that he proposes but also for his attention to detail. A thinker but also a very open person he always says thinks as they are.

Maria is a discreet, friendly person, who is distinguished by the perseverance and passion for the field chosen to study. She is well organized and careful about the details, being a good teammate, always coming up with inventive ideas in solving the tasks. Her gentle nature always succeeds in removing any trace of negative energy, thus revealing a very enjoyable company.

Testimonials

The Seismic Design Competition was for me the most intense period during the 4 years of college. A real explosion of emotions; from peak concentration during hundreds of hours of painstaking work on the structure, to tears of joy when we saw our team on the podium. And all these experiences, next to 14 simply wonderful people, with whom I have the most beautiful memories so far. The multitude of new people I had the opportunity to meet, from students like me, who in turn dedicate hundreds of hours of their free time to extracurricular activities, to internationally renowned engineers, architects and teachers. People from whom I learned new things, from whom I received advice or learned a new life story. People I can't wait to see again. Do you know the expression "When was the last time you did something for the first time"? The first airplane flight, the first new continent visited, or the first international conference of extraordinary renown, are just some of the experiences lived in Los Angeles, California for the first time in June 2018. Perhaps this was the reason for my excitement about the SDC experience. Maybe it wouldn't have this impact on you. All I can say for sure is that it's worth the risk. You could stay with the most beautiful experiences lived.
