Design Proposal SDC UTCN 2019
As a newly formed team, SDC TUCN 2019 has worked together for the the first challenge of the competition: Design Proposal. The proposal comprises a preliminary presentation of the seismic resistant tower giving a summary of the important and relevant aspects: geotechnics, architecture, structure, predictions of structural behaviour, economic considerations and an overall description of the project.
Closely cooperating we have managed to come up to our expectations. We have found about our result to be making our team one of the best 9 design proposals, together with: Cornell University, North Carolina State University (NCSU), Purdue University, Stanford University, University of British Columbia (UBC), University of California, Berkeley (UCB), University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez (UPRM), University of Toronto (UofT).
This is the kind of result that gives us confidence and in motivates us to keep up the hard work. For we know that a good name is rather preferred than great riches we are determined to maintain the good name that the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca has gained through the outstanding results of our elder colleagues.
