The admission process of the TUCN team for SDC 2019

The admission process for the team that will represent the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca at the 16th edition of Seismic Design Competition in 2019, started with a resume and a cover letter, a necessary intrigue to inform potential contestants of the character and magnitude of the competition being also one useful way of providing the recruitment committee significant information about the signed-up students.

For the next stage teams have been put together, each having one captain, one task, one deadline, and all teams together one workshop, tools, materials, so being challenged to use them together.

In this way, the propitious circumstances have been created in order to challenge the students, engineers and architects, to collaborate in order to create the most efficient seismic design structurally, economically, architectural and also efficient regarding the manufacturing process.

In the last day of the admission process, the balsa wood models were tested, every team having remarkable results, with very lightweight, yet very resistant structures. The last phase of the admission process was an interview with the recruitment committee, where each of the students were asked to describe the work with his team and his experience.
