SDC 2020 Design proposal – Top 10!
After intense team work, the first result appears: UTCN SDC 2020 is part of the Top 10 IN DESIGN PROPOSAL!
It was a first challenge that welded our team and contributed to our working rythm, based on consistency and persistency.
The first work theme was a structural and architectural proposal of the tower to be subjected to earthquake simulations of different intensities. The content of this scientific paper develops the main aspects related to: geotechnics, architecture, structure, predictions of structural behaviour, economic considerations and overall description of the project. Ranking in the first 10 places of the 51 participating teams it is motivating us to continue our work towards achieving our objective!
The Technical University of Cluj-Napoca appears once again on the map of prestigious universities in the world, next to Ain Shams University, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Cornell University, McMaster University, New York University Tandon, Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest, University of British Columbia, University of Puerto Rico, University of Toronto.
